I live in Boise, Idaho and I’m looking to create a will / trust. I have a house, car, stocks, bonds, some savings and a 401K. I would like to know if I can create this myself or should I hire an attorney. If something happened to me at this stage of my life, I need to know that my family would be taken care of after I am gone. Also, how money would it be for an attorney to handle this for me if I can’t do it myself?

It seems to be pretty straight forward. I still would recommend hiring an estate planning attorney just to be on the safe side. Too many things could go wrong and it is too important. My outlook is if its going to effect your family its better to be on the safe side. This goes for family cases and estate planning cases. I don’t know how much they cost but I’m not too far behind you.
