If your car received damages by young teens and you have proof that they damaged your car than the parents would probably be responsible for the damages. This would mean any repairs that were directly related to the vandalism. Vandalism is considered a criminal offense regardless of the age. I would first get the cops involved. This is probably the best way to get them to admit the crime. If you were hurt during the incident you also have legal rights. I would contact a personal injury lawyer. If you have a good case a personal injury lawyer will be able to get you money for both damages to the vehicle as well as injuries sustained.
Again, if I were you the first thing I would do is report them.
Sometimes these types of cases can be handled without a personal injury lawyer. If you decide to press charges a judge will probably order the youths to pay for all damages to your car. If you were seriously injured than yes, I would contact a personal injury lawyer. A personal injury lawyer should be able to get you compensation for medical expenses, out of pocket expenses and possibly ongoing medical expenses if the injury or injuries were severe.
well i did called the polies right then but all the polices did was get the reported then bring the teen downtown they got the metal pipestick found with the teen could that b poof ?because i dont know where they found the metal pipe stick
Call the police department and tell them you want to press charges against the teen. If they found the item that was used to damage your car than yes they have the proof. I’m assuming there is a report. You need to find out from them what the outcome was when they did their interview. Go down to the courthouse and press charges against the kid. This would be done at the States Attorney’s office. Once you have filed the charges, they will put together a case against the kid. At this hearing you will need to be a witness. I would make sure you have all the information pertaining to damages and injuries related to the accident when you go to the states attorneys office. Once the kid is convicted than you will probably want to file a personal injury suit for all damages. You don’t need an attorney to press criminal charges against the kid, the state will represent you. If they agree to pay for all damages etc. for the damages to your vehicle and medical expenses than you may not need a personal injury lawyer, however it may not be a bad idea to contact one for some advice. Let me know if this helps…
