My son was just caught shoplifting at the mall and he took a CD and was caught. He is only 12 years old and I’m worried that they may take him and put him into reform school. Can someone please tell me if the maximum penalty would be reform school for a shoplifting charge? It happened in Kentucky. Thank you

Your child was caught stealing a CD and you are worried about him or her going to reform school? While its possible its very highly unlikely. He or she will get a slap on the wrist. If I were you though, I wouldn’t let your child know this. I would tell your child there is a good chance that they may end up in reform school. Get them worried a little and next time they will think twice.
