I agree this is a very cool site. In regards to your question. There are several ways to approach collecting debt. There are the regular phone calls, emails and letters that are typically sent out on a weekly/monthly period. Because it is a debt, your company can also threaten to report it as bad credit. This means you can report bad debt to an agency and it will show up on their credit report. This will sometimes get people to pay. However, what about those people that don’t have the money to pay your company or just decide not to pay?
There is something called small claims court for those under a certain amount of money. When they end up in court the courts will demand they pay their debt and the interest that may have incurred since the time of the debt. Court ordered to pay means if they don’t pay, the courts could potentially garnish their wages.
If this doesn’t work because they don’t have a job, you may want to contact a collection agency that specializes in purchasing bad debt. At least you may be able to get something out of it.
Don’t worry about the court. You only have to specify the obvious. They owe this amount of money to our company, for said products and services, and they have yet to pay. Outside of that there isn’t much more you will need to know.
Is this information useful??
