My husband would like to adopt my two sons. Their biological father/my ex-husband does not want to give up parental rights. However, he has never seen the younger son. He left my older son and I in a homeless shelter shortly after finding out I was pregnant with our second son. We have been divorced since 2002, and he has never been made to pay child support nor has he made any attempt to see/visit with either of the boys. He writes letters to them once a week, but my sons do not want to read them. They do not want to have anything to do with him as he is the equivalent of a stranger to them. Do I have any footing to stand on to terminate his parental rights. He stated that he will not voluntarily give up his rights. Can they be terminated regardless of what he says since he has not had anything to do with the boys other than sending them letters? Thank you for any advice.

Hello,

I am toward the end of divorcing my husband (26 days left). I am living in my own place and supporting myself and my two kids. I get the kids every other week and weekend. What are my right to have people over to my house while I have my kids? I had a friend at my house that my husband does not like and he called me saying if I don’t get this friend out that he will call the cops and have the cops escort my fried out of my house. Is this true?
