I “kinda” got caught shoplifting at a Sephora in NY?

I was seen “concealing” two items by an employee, LP or guard, I wasn’t sure of his position because he was not in uniform. I realized I was being followed by him and some of the employees so I took one item out and he asked me if I wanted him to put it back. I put that back and put back the other item quickly because he was trying to catch me putting the items back. I asked a worker a question and the guard was shaking the second item I put back and laughing. The woman said “She put it back?” I was not asked my name or to show ID they let me out with out being detained, checking my bag or accusing me of trying to shoplift but im worried they will send the police after me. Its been a little over 24 hrs since, so would they have already sent the police to my house if they were going to pursue it? And it was at a mall so could they have gotten my license plate number? I gave them no information but is it possible that I will get a civil service demand or ask to appear in court?
