I had a home fire in Feb., 2004. My Insurance company denied my claim saying the fire was undetermined. But they paid off my mortgage. I didn’t even try to fight it because my Father was dying of cancer at the time. My Mother lived with me at the time, she suffers from Dementia and at the time she even told the INS. Company that she may have left a cigarette burning but they just ignored her. Is it to late to try and fight for my money now? I even offered to take a lie detector test at the time but I also was ignored.

we are in chapter 13 bankruptcy but our house is not, we had some damage done to it in a storm and we are receiving insurance money to get it repaired and our lawyer reported it to the trustee, we received our check but it is in both our contractors name and our own, so now we have to send proof that we are getting it fixed, if our house is not part of that debt how can they do this?

My car was backed into by a person in a parking lot. I was at a stop waiting to exit the lot in the isle and the other person was parked in a parking space. She backed up and hit the back end of my car. Her insurance company is dragging their feet to pay my claim and the adjuster said they might deny the claim or find me equally at fault. What legal remedies do I have? Small Claims? The person driving was not the owner of the auto, she is the minor girlfriend of the car owners son. If I go the small claims route do I file against the driver, owner, drivers parents or some combo of the above?
