Hi

My HOA fined me for having trash can in drive way back in may 2007. We talked to them and they agreed to cancel. Never got in writing. Since then New Company took over. Now after 2 1/2 years the company is asking for fine plus interest and penalty and original amount is now tripled and they are not ready of settle. What are my options.

Thanks
Ali

I originally had my HOA fees due at the first of the year. I do not live at that property where my bills were being sent. Somehow it was overlooked and never paid. They have hired an attorney and now are charging me $1400 on a $300 fee. Am I legally responsible for all of the legal fees and extra fees they are charging? I can understand late fees but it the legal fees are very high. Can I offer to pay a certain amount or try to negotiate this with them? Thanks

My home owners association is complaining that not everyone is paying their dues each month. Some accounts have been delinquent for more than a year. They are $14,000 in debt.

Now, they are saying they will only do repairs that are an emergency.

There are things that need to be done. How do I get the association to pay for these non-emergency repairs?

If they can’t manage to collect dues from everyone, can we get rid of the association?
