How do u quash an improper/illegal service? In L.A., California?
I got in the mail a default Judgment against me
however I was never served.
what form/s do I need to file? where ?when? how long do I have before They can attach property of mine?
before the judgment becomes final?

My x husband kept a checking account open with my name on it and after the divorce was final he maxed out the line of credit as well as overdrafted the account for greater than $7800. He then quit paying on it. He filed Chapt 13 but was unable to pay the fees. Now I am being harassed for the money. Do I pay even though the debt was acquired after divorce? Spokane, Wa

my question is last feb2009 i consolidate my cash advance check to the one company . then they advice me to close my bank acc so they cannot cash my check.now one of the cash advance aftr11month contacted me its a collector start threatening me as far i know they cannot sue me and turn over my check to the sheriff dept as what the collector say can you advice me

I have been trying to settle a debt with a collections law firm. They haven’t sent me any letters, just phone calls. I’ve spoken with them several times and offered to settle the debt at 50%. They accept the offer and tell me that they “will have to get back” with me after they consult with their client (the original creditor). This has been going on for about 6 weeks. I’m very willing to settle this debt but I’m worried they’re blowing smoke up my a** and counting on winning a judgment to garnish my husband’s wages. What do you think and what should I do to get them on the ball?

Hello. I think my family is being harassed by debt collectors. Debt collectors call me a few times an hour, which I know there is no law against but lately they’ve been calling my daughters cell phone. I don’t know how they even found her number but they also call her several times an hour mostly 3 times back to back, and they leave her messages saying they need to talk to me or my husband right away about a debt. They call her at very inappropriate times, usually until about 10pm. She answered the other day and told them never to call her that late and the woman said that they are aloud to call til 10. Is any of this illegal? What should I do about it? Thank you so much.

If i am behind on a personal loan, are they allowed to come to my job after i told them not to?

I reside in Collin County, Texas. I have one credit card with a balance of over $10,000.00. I have not made a payment since December, 2008 or January, 2009. I have a few other cards with a lower balance that I’m not paying on either; however, I am paying on 2 others, and those 2 are being paid on time.

Work schedule was reduced at work, and credit card companies would not work with me, so I stopped paying on a few, but I’m really concerned about the one that’s over $10,000.00.

Can I be sued for this? Do I get served with some sort of papers, and if so, what would they be and how do I proceed? Can they levy my paycheck?

I let a friend borrow $8,000 3 years ago and he agreed to pay it back. After email and verbal promises I have still failed to receive any payment yet. Is there anyway to recover my money?
