(Ventura, CA) A relative of mine went into work (whom she has worked for for 37 years, and talks of closing down her office)yesterday morning her HR and my relatives boss walk in the door. HR asked her for her keys and her blackberry and escorted out of the building (in front of all of her employees), HR tells her that they are going to be questioning each of her employees and that she will be contacted. They won’t tell her or her boss what she is being investigated for. She was called this afternoon and told that HR has to get all information together and will be contacted on Tuesday (after a 3 day weekend). We are concerned about the legality of their actions and if she would benefit from legal representation. Thank you for any help.

I am an at-will-employee for Luxottica-Lens Crafters. A supervisor, was upset with me and decided to confront me on the sales floor in front of other associates and customers. She made some comments, and I defended myself by making comments in return. Afterwards she said she was going to have the General Manager Speak to me, and I did not hear anything until a month and 2 weeks afterwards, which resulted in a write up. Is it true that there is a time limit statue to issue/notify the employee? If so, what is the time statue? I heard it what she did was illegal according to the California labor laws, is this also true?
