My fiancé and I live together, He gives me money for his half of the living expenses and I put it in my checking account, which is in my name alone. He got mad one day and demanded his money back after I had paid all of the rent out of my own money, and still had electric and phone to pay. The fight escalated and the police were called after he started hitting me and his sister. The cops didn’t do anything about his sisters busted lip, and the one cop threatened to arrest ME if I didn’t give my fiancé back the money in my account! Is it legal for a cop to force you to give money to someone?
Six days ago my mother and brother came to my house around 1am to “repo” my brothers ex girlfriends car. She was just visiting me as she does a few times per week. I do not have a relationship with my family anymore. It’s complicated to explain all of the reasons why, but for now I just do not. My mother has been trying to ruin my life ever since we stopped talking on 12/2009. The “repo” situation only came up bc she wants nothing to do with my brother and would not answer his calls. He had been drinking and was completely disorderly. They came to my house and he began banging on the door, making a huge scene outside. Eventually he woke up my one year old daughter. I eventually went outside through a side door to try to get him to leave and diffuse the situation. Once my mother seen me, she scream obscenity at me and punched me in my face. I physically defended myself against the violence. When my “sister in law” seen what was going on, she ran out of the house to defend me because my mother was on top of me (She is a much bigger woman) She took my mother off of me and eventually my “mother” and “brother” left. The police had been called before the situation, but came after it was all done. I pressed charges, pictures were taken, and my mother was arrested last night. I was advised that she was release from jail today and intends to press charges back on me- out of spite.
Is it possible for her to press charges on me even though I was victimized on my own property?
Should I hire a attorney.
I just want this woman to leave me alone but I know that will not happen if I do not follow through with this. Dropping the charges really is not an option for me.
I’m just looking for some answers and possibly some options.
Hi there.
Okay, here it is…
My boyfriend, (we’ll say “Fred”), was at a bar conversing with the owner. The bouncer placed a chair directly in front of Fred’s field of vision (which was directed towards the band) and simply stared at Fred. Fred then placed a chair in front of the bouncer and did the same. The bouncer began pushing Fred hard, repeatedly backwards. I’m not entirely clear on the words that were exchanged but the bouncer had not told him to leave or warned him for anything. When Fred and the bouncer were near the exit, the bouncer then pushed him out of the bar and onto the pavement where he sustained multiple small cuts and bruises. The bouncer then went back inside. Frustrated, Fred stood back up and reached for the bar door only to find that the bouncer was holding it shut. They pulled for a moment and then Fred became more frustrated and punched the window of the bar. The window cracked and the bar/bouncer called the police. Fred was apprehended by police, charged with mischief and given a court date. Fred and I are going to file assault charges against the bouncer. The next morning Fred had trouble getting out of bed due to the fact that the bouncer’s actions had aggravated a previous soccer injury to his chest. Fred had multiple bruises, cuts, nail/finger marks, and scrapes all over his body including one spectacular bruise on one of his biceps. We’ve photographed the injuries for about 5 days until the bruises healed.
Any advice would be immensely appreciated!

I was arrested for assault, not battery, just threating my brother in law. Three months later he drove to my home 100 miles away and beat me up for which he was arrested. When my case went to court, the asst. district attorney agreed to drop the case against me if I would agree not to testify in the case against my brother in law which was in another jurisdiction, in which he has no concern at all. It appears to me that he was acting as my brother in laws private attorney, not as an asst d.a. Is there any reason for his doing this?
If I was shoved twice and kicked repeatedly before I hit my assailant, should I have charges pending on myself?
This past weekend i was at a friends birthday party, their was some drinking involved. During the party the hostess to uncles come, one approaches me and demands i give him a smoke, i say no at first but end up giving it to him, the other uncle sits beside me on the couch he starts talking about his wife and i ask if she was hot, he starts yelling and swearing at me, i tell him it wasn’t meant offensively, His wife comes and gets him and they leave. At around 12 o’ clock we are all leaving the party, the one uncle is outside waiting for me, asks if i said something about him and punches me in the face, i hit him back then the other uncle comes and attacks me as well, i was hit 4 times. I go to my car and had a bat ball and glove in my car, i grab the bat and was walking over there. someone stopped me and the uncles didn’t see me with it. what should i do or what can i do>?
So, if a guy pushes someone and the victim has injuries what might be the consequences
I was at a bar with some friends, and we left and a couple guys from the bar tried to fight one of my friends, so i tried to prevent it by breaking it up, i pushed a guy away and he fell and hurt his leg really bad, he had to get surgery on it. He is trying to charge me with assault, what should i do? and what do you think will happen to me?

I asked my roommate to leave my apt. The day she came to get her things, she brought her dad and uncle with her. She had animosity with my boyfriend because of a previous argument and threatened that she would have her dad come over. When my boyfriend opened the door, he was immediately struck by her father resulting in a big fight. The other guy held him and her and her father fought him resulting in cracked walls in my apt and broken closet doors. Who can be charged and what can they be charged with?
One of my students aimed a laser pointer to my left eye which has caused at least a temporary injury (poor vision) which may be permament. The student has since been expelled for 12 mos. and charged with assault. I should say this occurred on sovereign tribal land exempt from State Worker’s Compensation rules.
If my injury does not heal up and winds up permanent who has liability because the child and his family live a very meager existence already? My school has stated they will pay my medical bills via their insurance coverage but I’m in pain and suffering daily while trying to recover my vision. Should I retain a personal injury attorney to protect my long term interests.
