Stopped and rear ended at a red light

I was rear ended at a stop light which turned green but before i could move i was hit. The damages to my vehicle was about $750 and the same day i experienced a massive headache which took place for about three days straight. Shortly after the headaches calmed down a bit i was experiencing lower back and upper back and neck pain. It has been 4 weeks since the accident and since i was not at fault i was offered a low ball $500 settlement. I just had x-rays done and my doctor said my back looks ok for the moment and it seems to be muscle issues I’m having and soft tissue injuries. I do not like long drawn out processes because i am just not the type to deal with people such as insurance companies who only have themselves in mind. I am looking to personally settle for 30k for current and future problems that may arise. Another piece to add to the puzzle is that i had my thyroid removed from my neck which was enlarged and so i already had issues with my neck and it was slowly healing but i think this might have set my healing process back for quite some time. I need to know if my settlement request is enough or should i increase my request due to the great possibility that i could be dealing with the headaches and neck pain for quite some time. Any input would be appreciated.
