hello I’m in Burbank,CA my question is I’m I able to change my income for my case of spousal suopport to change precentage? I am paying 50% spousal support for a year in a half. My income has changed about a month ago only making 800 a month not able to afford anything.

Yes, people are able to change their spousal support when circumstances change. Alimony payments can be modified by filing a motion with the court regarding a “change of circumstances.” A change of circumstances can include a bona fide and substantial decrease in income which was not the result of trying to escape payment of support. A change of circumstances includes getting laid off of work or losing a job due to disability.Obviously you will also need to present compelling proof in order to persuade courts
