My father and mother in laws are going through a nasty divorce. My mother in law is currently living with my wife and our 2 children. In any case, while they were married, my in laws loaned us their snowblower. Now my father in law is having his lawyer claim that this is part of the divorce proceeding and that this snowblower is an asset that should be split up. Should I fight this? It is on loan, but I know neither of my in laws will ever use this snowblower. It is worth like $500, and I don’t want to buy a new one.

I would suck it up and get a new snowblower. You don’t want to be in the middle of winter in Helena Montanan without one. You should stay out of your wife’s parents divorce and property of that divorce. It’s not worth the five hundred bucks. Let your mother in law get in touch with her divorce lawyer about this.
