Are police officers allowed to search my property / car without reasonable cause? I was pulled over and the officer asked to search my vehicle. I told them know and they searched it anyways and found marijuana in my pant pockets which was in the back seat of my car. I never gave them permission whoever they still arrested me.
Is this legal?

You may and should challenge the search. It is the only defense you have. Perhaps they searched you and your vehicle for discrimination causes like you are young, latino, or african american. Searchs are challeged every day in court. There have been numerouse Supreme Court case rulings on the amount of search discretion police have.
The legal issue is known as “Probable Cause”. Sounds as though your weed was in your clothes in the back. Well did you smoke some of the grass just before he stopped you. Did the cop have a reason “probable cause” to stop you. Did you vear from center, brake any law? And did the cop have a legal reason to search you? If you answer yes to the above you are screwed:( If the answers are no, than get a public defender, or if you have the money to hire a good defense atty. than you should be fine. Study probable cause to stop you.
They can search your car without a warrant if there is reasonable cause. I guess they had reasonable cause because they found marijuana. Maybe they smelled it, thought you were stoned, or saw something that lead them to search your car. You can’t do a thing about it.
