My husband was on probation in San Diego CA for robbery. He had 2 weeks or so left and requested permission to come back to New York. He went to court in October or November 1985 and was given permission to do so with the open stipulation that he never return. Just received a letter 5/15/2008 from Fugitive task force informing him of a warrant from July 3, 1985 on probation violation. How could he be allowed to leave 3-4 months later if he was in violation? He spoke with Task Force Coordinator and was told it was a very, very weak case, not a strong one and his bail was $2,000. Not sure what the violation was. He called another number given to him by Mr. Chavez to see what the violation was, she will let us know when she finds out within a few days or so. Meanwhile, he is on pins and needles. The only thing he could have done is forget to report to his p/o but he doesn’t remember and we figure they wouldn’t have released him with this open warrant. Any insight would be appreciated. He can’t even defend himself against remembering what he did 23 years ago. Help!

I would find an attorney based in San Diego CA that specializes in Parole violations and outstanding warrants. You don’t want to mess around with a technicality and have you husband go to jail. Look for one here:
