Personal injury in Long Island Car Accident

What is the statue of limitations in Long Island NY to sue someone? I was involved in a car accident close to 3 years ago on the Long Island Expressway. I settled my case out of court with the insurance company and now I have ongoing medical expenses that I never thought about. I’ve been going to the doctors for the last 6 months for a back injury that I believe was a direct result of the car accident. Please help!

The statue of limitation for most personal injury car accidents is 2 years. However you’ve already settled with your insurance company so chances are you can’t receive additional payments.

I read somewhere that the statute of limitations for personal injury suits in New York is 3 years, not 2 years. This is even more reason why you should contact a New York based car crash lawyer and consult with them what the statute of limitations really is for New York State.
