I was attending a performance at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, North Carolina (a City owned complex). While at the performance, I fell as a result of tripping backward over a “little wall” at their “handicap area”. The “handicap area” is not marked with any signs, special colors or lighting and the “little wall” is the same color as the flooring and results in an optical illusion when entering the seating area. Are they liabile for my fall according to N.C. law? If so, what type of costs (i.e. doctors visits, damage to my property that I was carrying, etc.)?

It sure sounds like they are liable. How much were you physically injured? Did you miss any work?
You can always contact a personal injury lawyer based in Charlotte NC. The will let you know if you have a case or not and if a settlement is possible. I would do a search on www.targetlaw.com
