I am dealing with a horrible situation right now and I need a lawyer located in Sarasota, Florida. Over the last 6 months I have been having troubles with water getting into my apartment from the roof. I have contacted the landlord to tell him that the problem must be fixed. Every time it rains, water seeps from the ceiling and lands on my floor. He continues to tell me to put a bucket under the seeping water and he is in the process of getting the roof replaced, thus that is what is causing the leak. The other night I came home and I slipped and fractured my ankle due to the leaking. I’m not sure what I should do because I’m afraid if I press charges or sue my landlord I will be evicted.
