do i have a possible law suit against my company for allowing me too work a security post for 16 hours a day and there is no usable rest room on site ? there is a rest room but the building is not in use so there is no lights and no running water so it is impossible to run the water. i just want to get an idea of what im looking at ???

Is there a port o potty or do have the ability to leave area to use restorrom? In general no this is not legal. Have you addressed this with employer?

I would take it up with OSHA

my question is i got hurt at work and went to the doctor he took me off work at first within a couple of weeks he put me able to return to work on lite duty the employer told me they had no lite duty work and would not let me return even though i had been on lite duty in the past due to gallblader surgry and breast reduction so i was off work on comp one year three months when the doctor completly released me i called them i could go back to work and they told me their policy is they only hold your job for one year i have worked for them almost 12 years and never read or was told that in all that time plus i was out on a injury i got their store. currently at another store they owen their is a person working lite duty what would be the difference. and if you do have a case how long in illinios do you have to file?

The restroom issue … filing a complaint with OSHA is a last resort AFTER you have exhausted all options within the company. Also works best if multiple employees are affected — harder for the employer to know its you who called in OSHA. You don’t have to give OSHA your name.

OSHA regs do require restroom facilities. Go to http://www.OSHA.gov and search the regulations under part 1910.
