I am thinking of starting up an internet company and would like to know the best states for incorporating my business. Also, do I have to live in the state in which I incorporate. I thought I heard of companies that incorporate businesses and they aren’t even in the same state. Also, do I need an attorney to incorporate?

This is true Delaware is probably the best state to incorporate. They will also give you an address I think a PO box so you can incorporate in the state. I had a friend that incorporated or did an LLC in the state of Delaware and it worked out fine for him.
I incorporated my business in Delaware and was able to pick up a PO box from the company I incorporated. I have attached a link to the company. I’m not sure if they are the cheapest so it could be worth looking around at a few companies but I do know Delaware is one of the best places to start a company.

No you do not have to be located in the same state in which you incorporate. There are companies out their that will incorporate you business for pennies. The best states to incorporate include Delaware, Texas, New York and Nevada. Delaware probably being the best because of the tax breaks. Do a search for Delaware Business lawyers or incorporation lawyers and I’m sure you will find a ton. Good luck with your company.
