I am going to be turning 19 I’m March, so now I am 18 years old and a legal adult. I’m currently involved with a man that my parents currently don’t like. They forbid me to talk to them and they said if I did, they would file a restraining order against him. Is this possible, since I’m a legal adult and of age of consent? I live in Massachusetts and have been looking everywhere for the answer. please help

No its not unless violence or threat of violence has ocurred

They may be able to get a restraining order for themselves and their property (if you live at home). But should not be able to get one on your behalf.

Here is a good post on restraining orders:
http://askinglaw.com/false-accusations-6/

I was recently hit with a false restraining order in MA. It’s quite scary how easy they are to get and have extended. I had a judge agree there was no evidence against me, but he still EXTENDED it. Why? Because, the plaintiff proved they were in fear. Not fear from me, just fear, and for that I pay the price. Getting through the border back into the US has been a joy ever since too.

Be careful, because if they want the order, they’ll get it. Then the man you’re seeing will be on the domestic abuse registry unless he can prove fraud on the court.

Good luck.

It may be time for you to look at getting a good lawyer that specializes in restraining orders.
