I currently own a small landscaping business in Annapolis, MD. My employees include many immigrants of latin descent. I have not asked their legal status if they are here legally. What would I need to get from my employees? An H-1 Visa? Passport? Greencard? Social Security Card? I am worried about all the recent ICE raids on businesses in Maryland, namely Under Armour. Should I get an immigration lawyer? I don’t want to spend a lot of money on legal fees, but I don’t want my business shut down because I have some illegal immigrants on my payroll.
