felony removal

i was arrested with 1/2 gram of cocaine in 2002 took the prop 18? program which i did not complete… was going thru a divorce and could not afford the payments … was picked up for failure to appear for this , spent 22 days in county jail, then charged for a felony.. after that i completed three years of probation , urine testing , and have no problems since… what would be the best, cheapest way to get this removed.. thanks..

To begin, you may not necessarily be able to get a felony removed from your record and the fact that you were not compliant with the court and your orders in the first place can become a major problem for you now. That being said, what you are wanting to do is have your record expunged (or sometimes called record sealing). This is a court heavy process and the judge has a lot of discretion in whether or not he feel it is appropriate to grant such a motion. They will usually look at the nature of the offense, whether the terms of your probation were carried out, and whether you have gotten yourself into any legal trouble since.
