i am pregnant and live in Florida with my husband. i move here a year and a half ago when we became engaged. we have been married one year and i am pregnant. i am originally from Mississippi. he is emotionally abusive and ideally i would like to file for divorce and return to Mississippi. is it legally better for me to return to miss. before the baby is born and then file for divorce?

In some states you can’t file a divorce while you are pregnant. What you need to do is contact your circuit clerk in the county you reside. I don’t think you are allowed to leave the state without consent of your husband. You may also consider contacting a divorce attorney or if you don’t have money, contact a legal aid. Because he is abusive and you can prove it, you may have an out. Good luck to you and the birth of your new born!
