We where in Covinton, La., when we were pulled over by the Covinton police. I did not get a ticket, but they took my wife to jail for having 1 of her prescription pills mixed in with a bottle of different prescription pills, that belonged to her. I ran to the pharmacy we use and got a list of her prescriptions and returned, to prove her innocents, they refused to drop the charges and held her for 9 hours after I returned with the list. She has a pending court date. Once the charges are dropped, can I sue the Covington police, for false imprisonment, for the 9 hours they held her, after I returned with proof of innocents and for them refusing to drop the charges?
