My brother has provided false and misleading information on me to the DuPage County Legal System resulting in my incarceration for 2 months while the investigation was completed. At conclusion, the County released me and will have nothing to do with my brother. This occurred in 02/08.
Now, he is attempting the same thing with the Will County legal system. I have sent him a letter stating that he cannot make false and erroneous statements about me anymore, dated 5/5/2008, and if he does I will file civil/criminal charges against him. I have provided this information to the Will County investigators and have put them into direct contact with the DuPage County legal system.
What can I do to stop this activity?
I want to sue him and his net worth is in excess of $500,000.00 with a position that pays $150,000.00 per year. This has to stop. I am not looking to get anything but the opportunity to make this stop!! Please help with any assistance.

Defamation of character is notoriously difficult to prove. However, it does appear that you have some factors that are promising:
1. You did actually suffer monetary damage and were incarcerated because of the false allegations
2. The statements made by your brother were patently false and were made with the intention of damaging you.
