What are some possible punishments for a criminal trespassing arrest? I was told i was being given a city ordinance because we were playing basketball at a grade school after public hours, but it showed up as being arrested and it is called a level 2 city misdemeanor. just wondering what possible punishments or fines i will be looking at?

Not so fast. Frequently employers do background checks on prospective employees. Criminal trespass (as opposed to a civil prosecution) would show up in such a check and just might lead to second thoughts on the employer’s part.
I wouldn’t just dismiss this as something not to worry about. Oh and by the way, a fine of up to $1000 can accompany a conviction.
A misdemeanor can hold up to a year in jail but don’t worry about it, its not going to happen. Here is what is going to happen. Worse case scenario, small fine and/or slap on the wrist and possibly community service. Not worth losing sleep over that’s for sure.
