currently I’m am unable to provide for my self financially. i was given an order to start paying child support even tho i didn’t have a job at the time. i explained to the support people that i was less than a year from graduating with a degree in forensic science. didn’t matter to them. i get my baby on average about a week per month due to the distance of the mother. i support the baby in any way that i can but at the moment I’m torn between finishing school or facing jail time for this. when i went to court there was no one on my side to tell me all my options. i don’t mind paying but i don’t have anything to pay with! i think there should be something that can be done to push this back until i graduate and get a great paying job!

This is a problem a lot of people face and rathe than have people “argue your side’ you need to present proof of your dire financial situation. The court will likely still make you pay support but at a figure that better reflects your financial situation. You may need to get a part time job but this is something you should take the the court.
