I slip and fell at a major retail chain recently. I have swelling and bruising. The major retail chain wants to settle my case for $500. Does this amount also include mental anguish?
My wife slipped and fell at work. She ended up having a black eye, a busted lip, and a cut on her brow. She is all healed up now but there is now a scar on her brow and it looks as though part of her eyebrow is not going to grow back. Is there anything we can do to receive compensation for this? My father slipped on spilled laundry detergent on the floor at a retail store yesterday. He ended up going to the emergency room and is in a good amount of pain. He hurt his neck and back. He also has a swollen arm and has to wear a sling on it. They did x-rays, but can’t tell if his arm is fractured or not, due in part to the swelling and also due in part to the fact that his arm is already previously injured (30 years ago he shattered his elbow). He does not want to be unreasonable and needs (at minimum) for the hospital bills to be paid for. He did not take any pictures or anything (he was embarrassed when it happened), but now he is not sure what to do. He may have to go to therapy now because of the pain (if it doesn’t go away). He is already disabled and is in his 60′s. He has no idea how long the spill was there before he fell or anything like that. I’m so worried about him I don’t know what to do. He has already been considering getting a wheelchair because of his disability and the pain he has been experiencing before the accident. Should he get a lawyer?
I recently slipped on stairs that are unsafe (the rise on them are almost knee high to step on too) and had a gutter above that was pouring down water as it was raining hard out. i broke a finger (pinky), i work on computers all day. I need to know where to start with this please.
