Hello, what are my options if a stranger spilled orange juice all over my $3,000 Apple laptop and now it no longer functions?
Related question: what would happen if I was standing on a sidewalk and someone tripped and fell onto me and my leg was broken as a result?
A neighbor approached me after I returned from vacation stating that she fell in a hole on my property and injured herself. The hole in question is approximately 3′ deep, 18″ in diameter and serves as an entrance to the sewer clean-out. It was covered with a plastic bin lid and two concrete blocks. The hole is about 4′ from my house wall and is situated between out two houses. The neighbor came on my land without my permission or knowledge and was therefore trespassing.
I received a demand letter from an apparent legal entity today. Am I liable under Texas law for her injury?
Thanks.
Joe
I recently attended a conference and had to park the car in the car park as it was in accordance with the conference joining instructions. I asked the security guard the best place to put the car and he told me to park it near the entrance and also assured me that it would be safe there.
However, at the car park there was a little board that said ‘St Arnolds House accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to visitor’s property, or injury to visitors, howsoever caused’.
When I went back to the car I found that it had been badly damaged and rushed back to the reception to talk to the manager. To make it all worst I slipped on some spilt coffee and banged my knee quite hard on the tiled floor. I spoke to the facilities manager and he pointed to a board that said “NOTIC ENO PARKING HERE. ACCESS TO BE KEPT CLEAR AT ALL TIMES.NO LIABILITY ACCEPTED WHATSOEVER.”
When I got home my knee was swollen from the bang ad can’t work because of it so I had to get a week off my job as my doctor signed me off.
Please help me out as I have no idea what to do. If there are any professionals in this matter please help me solve this.
Thank you.
I recently slipped on stairs that are unsafe (the rise on them are almost knee high to step on too) and had a gutter above that was pouring down water as it was raining hard out. i broke a finger (pinky), i work on computers all day. I need to know where to start with this please.
Hi,
I am a home owner of a condo in the mountains of Colorado (we get snow on a regular basis) that has an HAO. We have hired a property maintenance company to come out every time it snows and then when it warms up to remove snow and ice that has built up any place to make our property safe.
I was informed a few days ago via email from the HOA president that the HOA and the property maintenance compandy is being sued by a tenant for $20,000.00 for slipping and the ice and breaking her wrists.
My question is if the HOA has a policey of keeping the snow cleared in a timely manor and the property maintenance company has done this work (which I belive they have been), how can we be sued for the person who slipped? Aren’t we doing what we are required to do? And how do we know if the tenant had been under the influence of drugs, wearing shoes that are not suitble for the conditions (I have a pair of North Face shoes that slip on the ice more than my others)?
We do live in the Rocky mountains and have plan our clothing and shoes in accordance with the extreem weather that we get.
