I was attacked and get robbed.

policed already get criminal and my stuff back but I was injured and have to pay hospital so I want to sue them.

since police said state attorney will handle the case but it no progress for couple month already.

One of my students aimed a laser pointer to my left eye which has caused at least a temporary injury (poor vision) which may be permament. The student has since been expelled for 12 mos. and charged with assault. I should say this occurred on sovereign tribal land exempt from State Worker’s Compensation rules.
If my injury does not heal up and winds up permanent who has liability because the child and his family live a very meager existence already? My school has stated they will pay my medical bills via their insurance coverage but I’m in pain and suffering daily while trying to recover my vision. Should I retain a personal injury attorney to protect my long term interests.

My E.R. visit consisted of a cat-scan, 4 staples to the top of my head from a deep laceration, black eyes, swollen nose and cut lip.

I was recently involved in an altercation at an establishment, I was sucker punched while in a bathroom, of course I fought back. The fight was broken up and I was kicked out of the establishment. While leaving I was confronted again by whom I think was the individual who hit me,I was frightened for my well being so I ran, while running the city police pulled onto the scene, I was arrested for obstruction of justice, the police said that I was running from them. when actually I was running from the individual.That being said I was taken to the hospital for an injury and requested pressing charges on the individual whom struck me. I gave the police a description several times. Well after a stint in the county jail and charges being dismissed I receive a hospital bill. Do I have grounds for a law suit?

I was the plantiff in a criminal case of assault and battery. The defendant was found guilty. I would like to file a civil case for emotional distress, how long do I have to do this? The crime happened August of 2007. A judgment for the criminal case was not made until May 2008. I reside in Red Springs, NC. Thank you.

I just read that a man is being charged for punching a pit bull puppy. Now before you get all up in arms about animal rights, none of us no what really happened yet. If he maliciously punched the dog, then he should be punished. If however, he was defending himself, isn’t there some law to protect him (self defense against dog attacks and bites)?

I have settlement agreement with some body lifetime terms,but one had breach

My husband works for one of the largest casino companies in Las Vegas. While dealing with verbally abusive customers who are losing their money is an anticipated job requirement, last night an aggressive and abusive patron physically punched him. His supervisors saw it and looked the other way, though my husband was told by a colleague that a supervisor later informed the patron (a big money player) that he would have to control himself or be ejected. No security was called, no medical attention for my husband… and being the largest gaming property in town, it is proving to be difficult to find an attorney who has not worked with the gaming property in the past. Any ideas?

My brother was involved in an altercation on Main Street outside of the bar. He was hit several times in the face by someone twice his size. He got several injuries to his jaw and couldn’t eat for close to a week.

We got the names and I say names because there was more than one person that hit my brother. The fight ended fairly quickly and no one pressed charges, in fact from what my brother tells me the cops never showed up to arrest anyone.

My question is this, can my brother file a personal injury lawsuit against these young men to pay for pain and suffering and his medical expenses?

I just read in the local paper that a vicious pit bull attacked 4 horses at a farm in Harford county. One of the horses had to be put down after the dog bit it in the foreleg. The owner of the horses has suffered $1,700 in veterinary fees and the horse that had to put down was worth $7,000. Luckily, a customer of the farm who was with his daughter at the time was able to subdue the dog with a lead pipe. The dog was owned by a neighbor and had recently been fined $60 for not being properly confined.
My question is, what kind of liability can be brought to the owner of the pit bull? Could the owner have to pay punitive damages and pain and suffering to the horse owner? Is the dog owner criminally liable for his pit bull’s attacks?
