If a lawyer on a felony case discloses information to a third party about a case without written consent from the client has the lawyer broken client lawyer confidentiality? Could this conduct lead to asking for a mistrial?

an attorney in sd would not respond to over 50 letters and numerous phone calls for around 2 years. the SD bar said he was wrong and put a letter of caution in his file. later my convictions were reversed and vacated. this attorney owes me for 2 years of my life. what can i do to him and what is the time limit to file against him?

I have a friend that has been locked in county jail since 10-30-08, the state appointed an attorney for him, This attorney has yet to visit with him to get his facts of the case, my friend has recently been moved to another jail and I checked the web site for court dates and show he is schedule for trial in less than 30 days. He has written letters and I have gone to the office an begged this attorney to see him. How can he represent a client when he doesn’t know what he is representing. I am currently filling out the form for the state bar to file a complaint and will forward this to the judge.
My question is : Is it safe to assume this attorney sold him out. What would be purpose of this. He cant take 1 hour out of his day to see his client. Patience is one thing but 18 months and counting ….. I would welcome your thoughts on this matter. I am truly at a loss and am trying to help my friend.
