Is there any firm out there for clients who feel like they are getting taken advantage of by their lawyers. we are seeking help dealing with a law firm who is trying to take all of my husbands settlement and leave us with nothing, the fees are ridiculous and we need help a.s.a.p!

I have an attorney who is handling my deceased aunt’s estate and he has abandoned the case he doesn’t return phone calls, or emails and he has moved out of state. I am due to receive an inheritance and he has not settled any of her debt or wished in her will. how can I file a complaint against him?

I had to find a lawyer for my custody case. I was quoted $1,500 and was charge thousands more after the fact. The lawyer did not even fight for me no court was needed just got shared custody. Now he put a judgement on me and keeps putting a hold on my checking account. No payment agreement was arranged and i have been making payment on my own. However they are putting me and my son at risk and holding my money how can i make this stop and find away to lower of stop this overcharge

My attorney, while disputing fees with me, said all of my files and documents had a lien on them and even my estate work (done by another lawyer at that firm) was under the lien until I paid in full. This is in New York City.

Did he have the right to claim the “lien”, not only on current work but on completed work entirely paid for?

Hello, my name is Pat, I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I would like to know what I should do or who I could contact for assistance in my workmans compensation case. I have hired 2 lawyers that has carried my case on for 5 years and has left me unsatified with the award amount. The 1st lawyer said he could only get me $10,000 and the 2nd lawyer said he could get no more than $4,000 plus cost of my medical treatments and prescriptions. I am totally disabled from the incident that occurred on my former job and have been on state social security disability since the incident, which has left me with many permanent health problem.
I would appreciate it if you can give me some directions of what I could do in my situation.

I opened a case for ssi in 2001 and was denied,I had a lawyer take on my case in June 2004 and always called her to see if she had heard of any court date for the ssi and she always told me that she is still wating. Come Feb 2008 she said my case had closed and I needed to reopen my case. Lawyer proved to me that she did send in everything on time but she dont undrstand what happend. Now I have been approved for ssi in Sept 2008 but do not get to gain all the back pay I should have. Can I bring charges against the old Lawyer for not doing her job and keeping constant contact with ssi?
