I started working for a LLC in 2007 under a signed agreement for $50,000 yearly salary + 2% commission. In 2008, the majority owner was trying to buy out the 49% investors. I was asked if I would like to have a 2% investment in the company. I agreed. A few months later I find out that I now receive guaranteed payments, not wages, where I am responsible for self employment taxes. I have had to take no pay as well when things were slow. Recently, I have not received any “guaranteed payments” for 12 weeks. I am hurting financially and wondering if I have any protection to recoup money that is owed to me. I have the signed offer letter from 2007 when I started working stating my salary. Did this change once I obtained a 2% investment in the company? I think I am being taken advantage of and the majority owner is saying that owners get paid last and sometimes won’t get paid at all. Is he right in saying this and not paying me? I’m in dire need of assistance.

We had a guy we gave 7,500 (we have copies of the checks). He cashed them, they all cleared etc. He later we supposed to start the job and never did. We asked him for the money back and he says he doesnt have it anymore, yet he is in the bar every day. Should we file a police report and sue, or just sue, what do you suggest I do first.

I live in San Jose, CA. I applied for an auto loan through the Car Dealer’s financial bank. I was verbally told by the car dealer that my loan was approved by the Bank. When the Bank learned that I could not speak English, the Bank denied my auto loan. However, no documents were legally signed. Do I have a recourse to file a discrimination lawsuit?

Well I’m a landlord in the state of Ohio. My tenant has not paid her water bill in over 1 yr. Now the water company is coming after me (the owner). They said they filed a lien against my home. I did not know a water company can do that? Is this something they can legally do or do I have rights? My tenant has claimed chapter 13 and says this water company is being paid but the water company would not acknowledge any legal papers from my tenant and is still coming after me. This water company has not been truthful in their information and also have many complaints filed against them. What can I do?
