I was involved in a car accident in Kent County, Maryland. To be exact it happened in Chestertown.
I need to know a few things. Since I was the one hit in the accident and it was not my fault will my car insurance rates increase? I was told even if I’m not at fault my rates go up. I was not really injured although I have contacted a lawyer so the guilty party can pay for the damages. The lawyer told me to call my insurance agent of which I can’t seem to get a hold. I don’t need an attorney reference here just an answer to this question.

I too was involved in a car accident in Maryland and my premium went up a lot. This could have to do with me hitting the person by accident. Probably the best thing to do is either get a hold of someone within your insurance company regardless who it is or just ask your lawyer.
