I was assualted physically, the person was arrested and charged with battery. I live in Orlando Fl.

My E.R. visit consisted of a cat-scan, 4 staples to the top of my head from a deep laceration, black eyes, swollen nose and cut lip.

Can I sue for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages or anything else?

I really appreciate any help you can give me.

Of course you can sue for damages. You can even win. However that wont guarantee the person has the money to pay or will

Yes, suing for damages is the easy part; its the actual collection of the damages that is often the problems in these types of cases,
Victims of assault and battery often have a difficult time recovering for their losses. Most assaults and batteries involve individual people who do not have insurance or sufficient assets to pay for the victim’s injuries.

If the person who committed the assault and battery against you does have assets, you may be able to recover for your damages, including:

* Medical expenses
* Loss of earning capacity
* Pain and suffering
