I was involved in the car accident about 9 months ago. The car skidded and ran over 3 small trees on the curb , damaging them .
At the time of the accident the owner of the property and I had a verbal agreement that I will remove the damaged trees and he will take care of the re-planting the trees. I removed the damaged trees within a week.
There was a police report for this which stated that 3 trees were damages and no injuries were involved.
9 month later I received an invoice from the owner to replace 6 trees 1 flower(bush?) . The owner insists that he has the right to choose the service to replace the trees and does not want me to provide any estimates from other sources. He also insisted on getting my insurance information
I contacted the owner and tried to relate that the damage was for only 3 trees and I will work on fixing the damages as per estimates of 2 or more
service provides. This did not work,
and now I need to understand :
1. Do I have to provide the insurance info to the owner.
2. Am I right on fixing the damage by my sources, providing that the job will have a warranty by the hired service.
3. Can I consider that the owner is trying to commit the insurance fraud?
Thank you,
Al
P.S.
I also found that the owner removed 3
trees (not damaged by the accident) adjacent to the ones that were damaged.
