Someone put a restraining order on me 5 years ago. They made up all sorts of lies and said crazy things to the police so that a permanent restraining order would be granted to him. I would like to appeal the order now 5 years later. What type of attorney would I look to for this and how would I go about explaining such incident to them. Also is it possible to file a lawsuit against this person for embellishing to the police against me.

I would first contact a criminal attorney that specializes in restraining orders.

Fight fight fight. There is this presumption that corruption is acceptable in these matters and appealing is not such big deal as they say. Appeal and write up motions and good luck!. This has happened to me- A total nutjob decided to lie and lie and I’ve been forced to fight by just learning the laws and praying etc.
